Welcome to our review of the OneCast programs for streaming your Xbox One to your Mac! We all know how it goes, suddenly someone in the house wants to watch TV and you are in the middle of a game. It used to be tedious to work around this, but for a while, this issue exists no more. OneCast provides a paid solution/alternative to the PS4 Remote. NOTE: THIS THING DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE AS LATEST UPDATES MADE OneCast TO BE FULLY PAID.This method of getting OneCast used to work back when i uploaded the v. Previously the only way to run Xbox games on Mac was to install Windows on Mac for free using Boot Camp but both Parallels and OneCast are definitely easier and more efficient. Unfortunately though, Steam has dropped support for VR gaming on Mac meaning installing Windows on macOS is still the best way to experience VR games and apps on Mac.
Stream your Xbox One games to your Mac and enjoy your favorite titles whenever your TV isn't available or you would just rather play on your laptop
While things have started to change recently, Microsoft wasn't known for showing a lot of love to Mac users. Windows 10 have been able to stream Xbox One games to their computers for a long time, but there is no way to do this on macOS, at least not without a third-party tool.
OneCast is just that tool. It allows you to stream games from your Xbox One console directly to your Mac, and it all seems surprisingly simple. You just need to make sure your Mac and Xbox One are on the same network, enable streaming on your console, and then log in to your Microsoft account from your Mac.
Given that this isn't an official Microsoft app, it's amazing that it works as well as it does, begging the question of why an official option isn't available. Maybe Microsoft will get around to it at some point.
As with any game streaming service, it's important to ensure adequate network speed is available. Connection via a LAN cable is preferable, but if you're tired of dragging wires around, make sure that your router supports 5Ghz Wi-Fi, as this will provide much better performance than 2.4Ghz.
